Transforming a Tricky Plot into a Dream Home in Bath
This project was a fantastic challenge, navigating a complex plot with multiple covenants and restrictions. Our clients wanted to make the most of an additional piece of land next to their home, and we saw so much potential.
Our initial brief was simple: a new garage and some clever remodelling of the lower ground floor. We love a challenge, and the final design went far beyond those initial ideas. The result was a stunning renovation that included a spacious new garage, a separate entrance, a shower room, and a versatile home studio/fourth bedroom. The real highlight was the new, open-plan kitchen and dining space, which now flows beautifully out into the garden. We were even able to add a “bonus” roof terrace, perfectly positioned to catch the evening sun.
We were thrilled to find an innovative solution that made the absolute most of the plot, despite the initial limitations. The house now feels much bigger, with an angled design that expands toward the garden, creating a wonderfully spacious feel. It was also important to us that their beloved classic car, an MG B, had a safe, new home—dry and protected. And the best part? The new roof terrace offers spectacular views of Bath.
